Short Quiz and Feedback After Each Session

After each session, scholars will complete a brief quiz to reinforce learning. Between classes scholars are assigned to write a reflection essay about the last class attended and hand it in at the start of the next class. Parents will receive regular feedback highlighting the student’s participation, behavior, and progress. This helps parents stay informed and involved in their scholar’s development.

Scholar of the Month

Each month, a student will be selected as Scholar of the Month. This recognition is based on character and effort, not just academic success. Scholars of the Month demonstrate:

  • Kindness by helping others and showing empathy

  • Academic desire by staying curious and eager to learn

  • Dedication by working hard and showing perseverance

Scholars of the Month will be recognized and featured on our website.

Why Kindness Matters

At YHSSA, we believe kindness is the foundation of a healthy learning environment. Scholars are encouraged to treat everyone with respect, offer help to others, and create a space where everyone feels safe and included. Kindness builds confidence, trust, and a stronger community for all.

Removal Process

  • Removal decisions are made at the discretion of program leadership

  • All decisions are final

  • While redirection and support will be provided when possible, continued violations may result in immediate removal
